Mateo Vintimilla

A recipient of the Augustine Foundation Scholarship, Mateo is an Ecuadorian born Classical Guitarist who performs in venues across the globe giving recitals in Iceland, New York and Ecuador. Mateo's passion for new music has led him to commission works from Ecuadorian composers and to actively perform Latin American repertoire.

He has represented his country in numerous international festivals and competitions. He is a Second Prize winner of the Ciudad de Quito National Competition, Ecuador, he has been a finalist in several national and international competitions. As in 2019 he collaborated with the Brooklyn Composers Society premiering new music at Brooklyn College, the same year he performed at the International Students Concert at Manhattan School of Music, Miller Hall. Mateo has performed in master classes for internationally renowned guitarists such as Pepe Romero, Angel Romero, Antigoni Goni, Luz Maria Bobadilla, Jose Gregorio Wanchez, Fabio Zanon, among others. He is currently a faculty teacher at Brooklyn Center for Musical Arts, New York City Guitar School, and an active concert performer. Mateo studies with the acclaimed American guitarist Mark Delpriora.
